Money to burn
When compliancy testing of the fixed-wire electrics cannot be carried out using conventional methods, thermal imaging is often invaluable. This is the case for your local bank, where for security reasons, the power system can never be switched off – not even just for five minutes.
As well as for personal safety, the main risk to eliminate in a bank is that of fire – bearing in mind that electrical problems cause fires more than they do shocks.
CLM is about to begin testing a bank’s 1,700 branches throughout the country using the non-intrusive advantage of thermal imaging. Our technicians simply open each branch’s power distribution board and take a thermal ‘photo’ to analyse back at the office for any hot spots and recommend repairs.
“Because each bank’s security system is powered through the distribution board to be tested, obviously it can never be switched off,” said business development manager Chris Ellis, who is also planning compliancy tests for Royal Mail sorting offices where security understandably also goes hand-in-hand with safety.
